Port expansion up for discussion at APE meeting

Editor:

Against Port Expansion (APE) will be hosting a port expansion information meeting on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. at the Ladner Community Centre.

We are asking the citizens of this community to set some time aside to come and learn the real truth about port expansion in Delta. It's not all good, contrary to those fictitious ads the Vancouver Port Authority has been running in our local papers (with our tax dollars).

As Delta residents, we need to take control of our own future. We cannot leave it in the hands of those with nothing more than corporate profits at heart.

This is our home, our air, our environment, and it must be protected. As responsible citizens, we need to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the same quality of life that we enjoy today.

If you are one of the many people who have thanked us (APE) for all that we are doing to prevent South Delta from becoming a port slum, this is your chance to show your support.

If you are a person who appreciates living in one of the most desirable communities in the Lower Mainland, stand up for your pride.

Every one of us should be asking ourselves about Delta and its environmental treasures: Is it their's to ruin, or our's to protect? Be a responsible citizen, and find the time to come by on Tuesday.

APE spokesperson

You may want to check out http://sdelta.town-portal as a local venue to get your points across.
